A change for schools is the ‘Teaching people to be religious in a particular way’ through 'The Religious Life and Catholic Christian Ethos of the school community'. It is a small yet subtle change to the way school operates. For example, our school community has an excellent reputation for being generous with its support for organisations such as Caritas, St Vinnie’s and Catholic Mission but the new Archdiocesan Religious Education calls us to make sure that participation in these service learning activities is matched by the development of a deep understanding of the related Catholic Social Teaching in the classroom. Teachers will now be trying to continually link what is taught in the classroom with our call to live the gospel message and participate critically in our world with justice and compassion.

The 'Live, Love, Learn' philosophy which underpins our work at St Pius clearly supports the Archdiocesan Vision for Religious Education and the Archdiocesan Model for Religious Education.
