Catholic Education Celebrates 175 Years in Queensland

This year Catholic Education celebrates 175 years in Queensland. Last week, our Executive Director Ms Pam Betts shared a message to all staff beginning with a quote from Pope Francis.

Look to the past with gratitude, live the present with passion and embrace the future with hope (The Year of Consecrated Life: 2014)

“We are grateful for the foresight of the people who established the first Catholic School in Queensland in 1845 and the many religious women and men who dedicated themselves to those pioneering years of Catholic education. Brisbane Catholic Education stands tall and strong on the shoulders of the many religious women and men who went before us.”

It is certainly exciting times for Catholic Education across Queensland and especially in Brisbane. St Pius V is part of the 142 schools that are part of the Archdiocese of Brisbane. In 2020, we have commenced with 460 students in our care and as always it is our mission to provide high quality Catholic Christian Education. Through our nurturing support, we aspire to empower our students to be educated, socially aware and actively engaged individuals, with the creativity and confidence to positively shape their future in the spirit of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Mostly importantly we aspire for all our students to Live, Love & Learn.
